We all had a terrific Christmas! I hope everyone also had a great holiday!
Daddy is installing all of the locks on the cabinets today because he is starting to get into everything! He is very close to standing up on his own! I think we are in trouble now!
He is crawling everywhere now! He is a crawling machine! When he sees something he wants, he gets it!
We are all finally starting to feel better. I am hoping to get a decent night sleep tonight. I can't believe that Christmas is next week already! It looks like I will be shopping this weekend!
Well, J is growing way too fast!! He has already learned how to kneel and he is very close to standing already. This is how I found him this morning:
So, we decided to lower the crib to the lowest setting. He seems to love being lower!
We are all starting to feel better! Unfortunately, I think it will take a few more days to feel 100% again.
Well, this has been a very long week... J came down with a very bad cold on Monday and decided to share it with his mommy and daddy. He has been waking up every hour every night since Monday! Whenever he lays down, he has trouble breathing from being congested. The doctor said that it was just a cold and that it should be over soon. Jim stayed home with him on Tuesday and I've been working from home since Wednesday. Jim is also home today sick. Of course, Jim and I both had deadlines at work this week! I've been working overtime for the last 2 months, which is at least finally over!!!
I think J has loved me being home with him this week. Even though he has not been feeling well, he has still had fun playing with his toys. The rest of his hair has finally grown back! He has a full head of hair now!!
A few exciting things have happened this week. For starters, J can now sit up on his own without any support and he can sit up on his own from any position. Also, he decided to start crawling last night!! We now realize that we will be spending this weekend baby proofing the house. All that we had done up until now was the outlet covers.
Unfortunately, I have barely started Christmas shopping. I've been working too much to really even start. I am hoping that we will all be feeling better this weekend!
We had a terrific Thanksgiving! J's cousins, aunt and uncle all came down from Virginia to spend the holiday with us. Grandma, Grandpa and Great-grandma came up from South Florida too! Local Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Pete also came over for Thanksgiving dinner. J actually slept through the Thanksgiving dinner. Our extended family came over for dessert. J is getting his next set of teeth, so he has been a little unhappy. The first one up top has already broken through, which means we did not get a lot of sleep last night...
J had a terrific Halloween! He had his first cold a few weeks ago and he is feeling a lot better. Unfortunately, I think he might have my allergies... J was a dragon this year and he loved being in his costume!!
Grandma Dee bought him a very cute Halloween outfit. He was in a good mood Halloween morning before daycare! He had a lot of fun watching mommy and daddy decorate for Halloween after daycare.
A lot has happened over the last week! I went back to work, which was not bad at all. The baby started daycare and he loves it!!! He slept the whole night through on Monday. He is usually so exhausted from playing all day that he goes right to sleep at bed time.
Also, his first two teeth are coming in. He hasn't been too happy about that...
He really enjoys his Jumperoo!
I also gave up on making his costume this year. I just don't have the time, so I bought one from Target. He is going to be a dragon! :)
Well, the baby finally sleeps through the night!! Last night he didn't wake up for a bottle, but he did wake up a few times screaming. When I went into his room, I found him on his tummy with his arm squished underneath him. The poor thing was just crying out of pain! As soon as I put him back on his back, he went right back to sleep. He sleeps a full 10 hours at night now! Yay!!!!!
I can't believe that he is rolling onto his tummy already. I also think that his teeth are getting ready to come in. He will chew on anything that he can get into his mouth!
Well, we are back from vacation. There were some fun parts and some stressful parts! The baby did pretty well considering how far we traveled. He apparently doesn't like to be in his car seat for longer than an hour at a time. We left to go home at 9 at night so that he would sleep through the entire car ride, which he did! The ride home was quite pleasant.
We all had a great time on the hikes. The baby loves the outdoors as much as Jim and I do. He especially likes being in the snug ride pack. He loved looking at the waterfall too! Our next trip will be going down to south Florida to visit my family. Hopefully, he won't mind the 3 1/2 hour car ride!
We are planning our first vacation with the baby. We are driving all the way up to north Georgia. I just hope the little guy doesn't mind a 9 hour car ride! I've bought some toys and books to keep him occupied in the car. We are going to be gone an entire week. I can't wait! Hopefully he won't mind some mild hiking. The weather should be beautiful. We were lucky enough to find a cabin to rent that has a playpen, baby swing, baby bouncer, etc... That means that I won't have to pack up all of his stuff. Wish us luck!
Well, this is my first post. I thought that I would try this whole 'blog' thing out. I am still on maternity leave until the end of September. I am lucky enough to work for a terrific company that let me extend my maternity leave!! I just wasn't ready to leave my little bundle of joy with strangers yet. I know that he will be fine at daycare. I am hoping to get him to sleep through the night before I go back to work. At least he will sleep until 2 AM now.
I have decided to make his Halloween costume. I bought the pattern off of ebay. Now I just have to buy the materials and start sewing. I haven't sewed anything since Freshman year of high school, which was quite awhile ago! Wish me luck!
